We currently have seven regional Emmaus consultants. They are there to help you, so do get in touch with your local advisor. Emmaus consultants are able to offer advice, run conferences, speak at events and provide additional resources.
Alun Brookfield
Born in Cardiff, South Wales, Alun spent most of his life doing missionary work in England before returning to his native Wales in 2003. Now a parish priest in the Brecon Beacons National Park, he is also Parish Development Adviser for the Diocese of Swansea and Brecon. He is married, with two adult children and is an experienced adult educator and trainer. Alun came across Emmaus when he was asked to manage the initial launch marketing of the programme in 1996, and still thinks it's the best thing in the marketplace. Mae e’n ddysgwr Cymraeg brwdfrydig.

Charles Freebury
Charles is a Methodist Lay Missioner based in South Somerset and also works with Cliff College, the Methodist Bible College. He has been heavily involved in Alpha and Emmaus courses, including research at postgraduate level into the impact of both courses in the south-west, and has published a detailed evaluation report, Alpha or Emmaus? (available as a free download from the Emmaus web site). Charles mostly advises on the main, evangelistic Emmaus module (Nurture) and on Youth Emmaus. He stocks Emmaus materials for post-free delivery in the south-west, and is happy to visit churches in the region for individual consultation or conference and workshop participation.

Cynthia Hebden
Born in Preston, Lancashire, Cynthia also spent 27 years in Anglesey, North Wales. For the last 8 years she has been living in Leicestershire, where she did a second curacy in a parish just south of the city, and was then Rector of a benefice of 5 rural villages. She is now Vicar of a large rural parish on the edge of the Charnwood Forest. Cynthia first used the Emmaus course during her curacy as a confirmation/nurture/refresher course. She liked the general content and flexibility of the course and has experienced several groups who grew together in a very special way. Since then Cynthia has used Emmaus for Lent courses and home groups. She has found that whatever anyone wants a course on you can find a 'starter pack' somewhere within Emmaus and customize it to meet the needs of your group members.

Ann Leonard
Ann was ordained in 1994 and has used all the Emmaus material in different ways in the parishes she has served in. Her last post was partly an education and training post in the deanery of Petersfield ( Portsmouth diocese) and so she was able to introduce Emmaus to varied congregations in the deanery. Currently she is Vicar of two small parishes on Hayling Island and is always willing to enthuse about and encourage people to use the Emmaus material as an aid to deepening faith both individually and corporately.
